Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 8 October 2026
RevID has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page explains our standards, the measures we use to prevent and detect CSAE, how to report it, and what happens when we find it. It applies to the RevID app, the web app at app.revid.uk and revid.uk. RevID is operated by RevID Ltd (company number 16973478).
1. Zero tolerance
RevID prohibits any content or behaviour that sexualises, endangers, or exploits minors. This includes, without limitation: child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form (real, illustrated, or computer-generated); grooming or attempting to groom a minor; sextortion; sexualised commentary about a minor; facilitating, promoting or requesting any of the above; and any other conduct that endangers the physical or psychological wellbeing of a minor. This applies to profiles, posts, photos, videos, comments, direct messages, and group messages.
We do not make exceptions for content shared "as a joke", for "awareness", or claimed to be fictional. Any account found to violate this policy is permanently removed.
2. Prevention and detection
These are the measures RevID uses:
- Age gate: you must be at least 16 years old to create a RevID account. Onboarding asks for your date of birth and the minimum age is enforced on our servers. People aged 16 and 17 are children under UK law, and the protections on this page apply to them too.
- Automated screening: post captions and overlay text, comments, post images, the cover frame and five frames from each video, and user-uploaded stickers are screened automatically shortly after they are posted. Content that is flagged is hidden from feeds until a person reviews it.
- Reporting: any account, post, comment or message can be reported directly in the app, with a dedicated “Child safety concern” category. Direct messages are not screened automatically, so reports are how we find problems in them.
- Blocking: anyone can block another user immediately.
- Human review: reports are reviewed by people, and child-safety reports place a safety hold on the account concerned.
3. How to report
If you see content or behaviour on RevID that you believe involves CSAE, report it immediately using the in-app Report option on the profile, post, message or user involved. Reports are reviewed as a priority, and you do not need to be the person affected to report something.
You can also email us directly at support@revid.uk with as much detail as possible (usernames, plates, links, or screenshots). Do not re-upload, forward, or otherwise redistribute suspected CSAM, including to us - describe what you saw and where instead.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first (999 in the UK, or 112/911 elsewhere).
4. What happens when we find it
Any account confirmed to have posted, shared, or solicited CSAE content is permanently banned from RevID immediately, without prior notice, regardless of how the violation was found (automated screening, user report, or otherwise). Content is removed and preserved only as required for reporting and law enforcement purposes described below; it is not restored under any circumstances.
Where required by law, we report confirmed CSAM to the relevant national authority - in the UK, the National Crime Agency (NCA), and in the US, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) - and cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
We keep the account record and the content as evidence for up to 12 months, even where our normal data-retention rules would otherwise call for deletion, and then permanently delete it. We keep it longer only while a law-enforcement matter is open. See our Privacy Policy.
5. External resources
If you or someone you know needs support or wants to report CSAE more broadly:
- UK: report to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) or the CEOP Safety Centre.
- International: report to the NCMEC CyberTipline.
